What is Weatherization?

Weatherization Works Thumb

Weatherization is a term used to describe the process in which buildings are made more energy efficient.  This is accomplished by implementing energy conservation measures such as insulation, weather stripping, solar screens to reduce the heat loss and gain of the building.  The weatherized building then requires less energy to heat and cool, resulting in lower utility bills and a healthier environment.

The “Building As A System” approach treats buildings as a single system, rather than as set of independent systems such as HVAC, electrical and plumbing.  Taking the building as a whole and using diagnostic skills and knowledge of proper installation techniques the auditors and installers are able to effectively direct building owners on how their money can best be spent to reduce their energy use.

“Apple Energy Group is a subcontractor of mine that I have been working very closely with since October 2009. I can say without any hesitation that Greg and his company's work ethics are impeccable. Greg has a can do attitude and is willing to assist me in working though any issue that may arise. I enthusiastically recommend Greg Hall for any opportunity he would pursue with you.”
